Boycott Duty Free Americas

Tell Duty Free Americas, and its owner, the South Florida Falic family, to stop funding the Israeli settler movement that is responsible for ongoing violence against Palestinians and the expulsion of Palestinians from their homes and land.

We had a good showing of people who came out for this demonstration in Woodstock. Thanks to those who participated.

BOYCOTT DUTY FREE AMERICAS until it stops funding Israeli apartheid!

Please join us in Woodstock on Sunday, October 31st, from 11 AM until noon at the Village Green

Tell Duty Free Americas, and its owners, the South Florida Falic family, to stop funding the Israeli settler movement that is responsible for ongoing violence against Palestinians and the expulsion of Palestinians from their homes and land.

According to the Associated Press: "The [Falic] family has donated at least $5.6 million to settler groups in the West Bank and east Jerusalem over the past decade...The Falics support the ultranationalist Jewish community in Hebron, whose members include several prominent followers of a late rabbi banned from Israeli politics for his racist views…. "

According to the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz: "The Falic family also operates the Panama-based Segal Foundation for Israel, which ran afoul of even Israeli law because it “did little more than transfer millions of shekels to right-wing organizations in Israel… ."

Shopping at Duty Free Americas helps the Falic Family foot the bill for settlement expansion in Palestine/Israel!

BOYCOTT DUTY FREE AMERICAS until it stops funding Israeli apartheid!

If you can, bring a sign saying Boycott Duty Free Americas or Duty Free Americas: Stop funding ethnic cleansing.

Boycott PUMA

It’s not a good time to be PUMA’s CEO.

Last month we learned just how nervous he is about the growing campaign to boycott PUMA over its support for Israeli apartheid.

Teams in several countries are dropping PUMA, and PUMA’s celebrity ambassadors and business partners are raising ethical concerns.

Now nearly 60,000 people have signed a petition to PUMA by global advocacy organization SumOfUs.

And tomorrow, September 18, groups around the world, from New Zealand to South Africa to North America, will join the #BoycottPUMA Global Day of Action.

We don’t particularly enjoy seeing PUMA’s CEO so agitated, but we would really enjoy seeing Palestinians enjoy freedom and justice. So we advise him to end PUMA’s complicity in apartheid Israel’s denial of Palestinian rights.

Join nearly 60,000 calling on PUMA to “stop its complicity with the Israeli apartheid state.”

Sign the petition to Puma. Stop supporting Israeli apartheid

Company’s decision is not a contradiction nor is it anti-Semitic.

We are the founders of Ben & Jerry’s. We are also proud Jews. It’s part of who we are and how we’ve identified ourselves for our whole lives. As our company began to expand internationally, Israel was one of our first overseas markets. We were then, and remain today, supporters of the State of Israel.

But it’s possible to support Israel and oppose some of its policies, just as we’ve opposed policies of the U.S. government. As such, we unequivocally support the decision of the company to end business in the occupied territories, which a majority of the international community, including the United Nations, has deemed an illegal occupation.

While we no longer have any operational control of the company we founded in 1978, we’re proud of its action and believe it is on the right side of history. In our view, ending the sales of ice cream in the occupied territories is one of the most important decisions the company has made in its 43-year history. It was especially brave of the company. Even though it undoubtedly knew that the response would be swift and powerful, Ben & Jerry’s took the step to align its business and operations with its progressive values.

That we support the company’s decision is not a contradiction nor is it anti-Semitic. In fact, we believe this act can and should be seen as advancing the concepts of justice and human rights, core tenets of Judaism.

Tell Puma not to support apartheid

Last week, Israeli bulldozers as well as heavily armed Israeli police and soldiers stormed the Palestinian neighborhood of Silwan in occupied East Jerusalem, in apartheid Israel’s latest round of Palestinian home demolitions.

In Silwan, just as in Sheikh Jarrah and across historic Palestine, Israel is carrying out a decades-long policy of gradual ethnic cleansing through settlement expansion. At the same time, it violently represses Palestinians trying to save their homes and livelihoods.

What does Puma have to do with this?

Just north of Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah is an official Israel Football Association (IFA) pitch. The IFA includes a number of teams and pitches in illegal Israeli settlements that force Palestinian families from their homes.

Puma is the IFA’s main sponsor. Not only that, just over 1 km away sits a swanky outlet of Puma’s exclusive distributor in Israel, Factory 54, built on occupied land in violation of international law.

Tell PUMA: Supporting Israeli apartheid and ethnic cleansing is a very bad look!

About Face: Veterans Against the War

From the state violence we've seen recently in Colombia and Palestine to the ongoing atrocities against poor, Black, Brown and Indigenous communities at here at home, it is as clear as ever that our anti-militarist struggle must be rooted in anti-colonial analysis and internationalist. We must understand the wars we seek to end as functions of this same, broader system and take action in solidarity with other communities being actively attacked by that same system accordingly. Our struggle is collective and our power is solidarity.

Today, and in the coming days, there are several actions we can each take to show up for our Palestinian comrades and I've listed a few below. Please join us in taking a stand in this critical moment, and continuing to be involved in the long term organizing to dismantle these systems of violence entirely.

  1. Learn and protest- Curated actions and resources from Palestinian Youth Movement. This includes a list of educational resources, credible sources of information about what's happening on the ground in Sheikh Jarrah, and a list of demonstrations happening (mostly tonight) around the country.
  2. Sign a letter to Congress- Petition to end U.S. complicity in Israeli government abuses organized by our allies at Adalah Justice Project and US Campaign for Palestinian Rights. You can also spread the word on your social media using these graphics
  3. Take Direct Action-5 ways to boycott, divest and advocate against complicity in the Israeli government's human rights abuses curated by BDS United States.

Thank you as always, for being a part of this movement and community. We are grateful to be in this fight with you.

In love and solidarity always,

Brittany Ramos DeBarros

Stop the "Hebron Fund"

My name is Tarteel, and I work with the CPT Hebron team. Recently, we are partners with Good Shepherd Collective "GSC" in Stop the "Hebron Fund" campaign to Highlight the legal violation of the "Hebron Fund" inside the USA.

The Hebron Fund plays a crucial role for the support of the settler movement through financial aid of the settler movement in Hebron. The Hebron Fund is registered as a US-based charitable organization. As such, it receives tax-deductible donations from the US - money from the US-American taxpayers. The campaign to Stop the Hebron Fund aims to stop the transfer of charitable money to this racist and illegal organization.

We need to collect more signatures for the petition and especially people from NY, however, we've been having a hard time finding organizations that could support the campaign, so If you are from NY, Part of an organization that is based in NY, or you know organizations or people who could support us, please contact us.

Feel free to contact me or the Palestine team if you have any questions,

Looking forward to hearing back from you,

Best Regards,

Tarteel

Too Radical for Harvard?

"So I figured it had to be political. And the most taboo issue on U.S. campuses these days, in many instances, has to do with the vicious Israeli occupation of precious Palestinians. It’s very difficult to have a respectful, robust conversation about that. And I am unequivocal in my solidarity with Palestinian brothers and sisters. And as you’ve heard me say on many times, you know, if there’s a Palestinian occupation of Jews, then I’m unequivocally in solidarity with Jews. I hate injustice. I hate occupation. I’m not in any way going to stop talking about the Palestinian plight and predicament."

#SheBoycotts

Today, International Women’s Day, companies supporting Israeli apartheid like Puma and AXA will be marketing their supposed support for gender equality. Take action now to call for full equality for all women.

Puma is launching “She Moves Us,” a marketing campaign to “celebrate the women who have moved culture and sports forward.”

She Moves Us, but Puma supports illegal Israeli settlements forcing Palestinian women and their families from their homes. She Moves Us, but Puma supports Israel’s military occupation preventing Palestinian women athletes from traveling to matches. She Moves Us, but Puma supports Israeli apartheid, including medical apartheid denying millions of Palestinians vaccines during a pandemic.

Celebrate Palestinian women in sports by joining

Yalla Y'all | Episode 1 | w/ Prof. Alex Lubin

About Yalla Y'all

After last year’s killing of George Floyd and the much-needed national reckoning with racial injustice and white supremacy which has been sparked by his death, AMP decided to better educate itself and its supporters about anti-Black racism, convening a series of powerful monthly webinars entitled #LetsTalkBLM.

Building on this webinar series, Felicia Eaves, AMP's Black-Palestinian Solidarity Coordinator, undertook an oral history project of Black and Palestinian activists and allies to better document the long-standing history of solidarity between the two communities and how they have supported each others’ struggles.

What made you decide to run for office?

 HT
What made you decide to run for office?

ZM
I started organizing around solidarity for Palestinians. I cofounded my college’s Students for Justice in Palestine. And when you get started in that kind of organizing, you typically have zero to negative ambition to political office in the United States.

Soon after I graduated, I worked a bunch of different jobs, as seemingly everyone my age does. And then I heard about a man named Khader El-Yateem, a Palestinian Lutheran minister who was running for city council in Bay Ridge and southern Brooklyn. He was a socialist, he was pro-BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions), and he was running for local office. These are all things that I had been told could never exist simultaneously in a person. And their existence was not a cause for fear or anxiety among so many but, in fact, of inspiration.

There was definitely a point at which I started to call myself a socialist, and that was Bernie’s 2016 campaign. I ran the paid canvass for that campaign, and that was the beginning of my work within local politics in New York City in a serious way. From there, I became campaign manager for a state senate campaign in the same area, Ross Barkan. I then became a foreclosure prevention counselor at an organization called Chhaya CDC in Jackson Heights. I simultaneously became a DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) point person on the Tiffany Cabán for district attorney campaign.

What led me to make the jump to run myself was sustained involvement in DSA, and then a good friend and fellow member asked me at an electoral meeting to run for this seat. That was the first time I thought about mounting a primary challenge. And here I am. ...
